I apologize if I keep repeating myself but I LOVE Thanksgiving! Such a fantastic holiday all about reminding yourself of the things you are grateful for & to express gratitude more often.
This year I wanted my Thanksgiving mantel decor to reflect all of that & then some. Today I am sharing it with you!
It was fairly easy to put together too, which is always a bonus.
I first started with the idea of my Thankful Banner which I posted about HERE. That basically set the tone for the rest of the mantel and I followed suit. I went and got two more letters (B and E) and painted them the same way I had painted the thick chipboard letters on the bunting so now it says “BE THANKFUL” which makes me love it even more. I also rummaged through all of my “fall” bins in the basement and pulled out quite an assortment of faux pumpkins! I arranged them in an eye-pleasing way and was excited about how it turned out (without me having to buy anything else!).
One of my favorite things on my mantel, however, is what I’m calling the “Gratitude Frame.” I’ve seen a lot of Gratitude Trees and other ways to display what everyone is grateful for and I love them. A full on tree wasn’t in the cards this year, however, so I needed to come up with something else.
I’ve had this empty frame for quite a while and have used it in various projects before so I pulled it out to see what I could do with it. In the end I decided to simply duct tape jute on the back to create a holder for some paper leaves I had cut out on my Silhouette.
We then took some time on Family Night on Monday and wrote down some of the things we were grateful for and then used mini-clothespins to put them up along the jute strings! It was very easy to do & can be done with any size frame you might have around your house.
And that’s it! So, what about you? Did you skip Thanksgiving decor and head straight into Christmas? I don’t judge you if you did. 🙂

i absolutely love this mantel. The colors blend so well. The frame is a great idea.
I love your mantel! I do fall decorations from September through November. The day after Thanksgiving is fair game for Christmas decor, though! We add in some Halloween stuff for the month of October, but September and November are pretty similar.
I love it!!! Just discovered you today while perusing Pinterest for a positive thought to put on my Mermaids of the Lake women’s e-zine Facebook page. I posted your wonderful “It’s Gratitude that makes us Joyful” graphic. (I gave a link here to your blog, hopefully people will visit your blog and be inspired as I have!) I do decorate for Fall and as much as I LOVE Christmas….. I truly LOVE Thanksgiving, as well. Thank you for your inspiration. Now I’m going to go read more!
I seriously love this.
