I know Dr. Spock is talking to parents of young children here. He is encouraging them to trust their instincts in order to help their little ones grow up to be healthy and strong. But for me this statement goes far beyond that. It is a great reminder as I am now heading into those years of teenagerdom as well. Trust my gut. I know when something isn’t right and I need to follow up on that. It also extends into other relationships I have as well. We can always trust ourselves that we know more about how to handle any given situation than we give ourselves credit for. So yes, if you’re in the baby/toddler years, definitely trust yourself. But don’t stop when your kids are older. You know more than you think you do.
Have a wonderful Sunday, friends!
