I love this quote from J.K. Rowling as well:
“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all – in which case, you fail by default.”
Mistakes are not a bad thing, if we learn from them. I often think of parenting “mistakes” since these are the ones that I feel the most guilty about. But you know what? Making a parenting mistake means that we are out there trying to parent our children, doesn’t it? We’d never make a mistake if we weren’t trying.
My daughter has a very hard time with making mistakes. I think I have a bit of a perfectionist on my hands. She has even gone so far as to not want to try something because she is afraid of making a mistake. I’m constantly having to remind her that making mistakes is part of life and that is how we learn and grow. Needing to tell her this often has kept me in the right frame of mind too. It’s not always fun but it is always a learning experience. So keep trying and keep making mistakes! 🙂
Have a wonderful Sunday, friends!
