St. Patrick’s Day is one of those holidays that I know not everyone decorates for. Quite frankly, I don’t consider myself a St. Patty’s Day decorator either but this year there was just something about the allure of splashing some gold around that made me want to do something fun with a St. Patrick’s Day Mantel! I promise I was planning on skipping it this year! But yeah, gold mason jars, gold pom poms and my little Gold & Rainbow Lucky sign lured me back in. 🙂
Because I had already made my little rainbow sign, all of this came together pretty quickly. I had spray painted my mason jars for my St. Patrick’s Day Mantel from last year so that was just a matter of finding them down in the basement.
Wrapping some green/white baker’s twine around my gold mason jars was the perfect little St. Patty’s Day touch.
I also had some left over gold polka dot burlap that I framed in my 12×12 Ikea frame. All that was left is to add a little more gold by making some gold yarn pom poms! I made them the exact same way that I made my yarn snowballs except I used this kind of yarn and wrapped them around my entire hand to make them bigger:
It’s a fun and bright mantel that was super easy and inexpensive to put together! Since gold is so hip right now, St. Patrick’s Day has quickly become quite the stylish holiday! 🙂
