I am so so so excited to be a part of this awesome Red, White and Blue Round Up from 110 amazing bloggers! So much fun inspiration for 4th of July fun! Today I’m excited to be sharing my Patriotic Ribbion Wreath with Free Printable Mini Bunting as part this awesome event. If you’re here from another blog then welcome! I hope you stick around for a while!
This wreath really is as easy as it looks and can be adapted for virtually any holiday/event/season simply by choosing different ribbons! You can get a tutorial in more detail on my post HERE where I made a Halloween Ribbon Wreath and see my Valentine version one HERE as well, but it really is as simple as choosing ribbon & then tying it around a straw or styrofoam wreath!
I tried to do the old “right over left, left over right” knot and I think that works perfectly for this. Below is what it looked like before I trimmed the ends in to a “V” shape….
…and then this is what it looks like after! Such a difference after you shorten the ribbons a bit an “froof” it a bit. 🙂
I think it is SO cute just with the ribbon!
I decided, however, that I wanted a little bit more with this wreath. I created a little printable mini bunting (that you can download HERE) to cut out and string up across the middle. Feel free to use the bunting across the top of a picture frame or anywhere else you can dream up, of course!
I just cut out the bunting, punched holes in the corners and strung it up with some baker’s twine and a couple of straight pins. Couldn’t be easier!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you go and check out the other amazing red, white and blue projects below! Happy 4th of July and God Bless America! 🙂
This looks amazing, and something simple that even I would do. Love all those cute ribbons! Pinning!
Thanks Kristen! Of course you could do it… tying knots is the easiest craft ever. 🙂
Just wondering about how many different types of ribbon you used and if you have a suggestion on how many yards total it might take?
It is adorable!!
I’m guessing it took about 25+ yards and I think I used 9 different ribbons! I used skinny and wide, shiny and matte, light and dark. The more variety the better! Or if you want a simpler look just use a couple of different ribbons!
This is adorable! I hardly ever make wreaths, but I think that I could pull this one off! 🙂
You totally could! So easy. 🙂 Make sure you wrap your wreath with one of the ribbons first so it doesn’t peek through. Easy!
This is adorable, Landee! Love it!
Thanks Kristi!
Love it! What size did you cut your ribbon strips?
