Common knowledge: Owls are adorable. Especially for Halloween decor.
Common consent: Spray painting is fun!
I found theses cute little owls at a craft store recently for very little money. Too cute to pass up! But of course, they don’t exactly “jive” with my style or with each other. Different styles. Different coloring. Not happening. So I took matters into my own hands, as I tend to do.
Here they are before….
…and here they are after! Oh, I also tweaked a little ceramic pumpkin I had found too. Adorable!
All you need to do this yourself is some black primer spray paint, some metallic craft paint and a small paint brush. I spray painted the owls, let them dry overnight, and then painted some of the details (eyes, beaks, feet, etc) with the metallic paint. It was such a fun & easy little project and now these mismatched, not-my-style owls are modern and striking! And for the pumpkin, I painted it with the metallic paint and then painted the stem with black craft paint. I love my new little Halloween trio!
You might have some things already in your Halloween bin that you thought were “not your style” any longer or that could use a little spruce up… give this a try!
Happy Halloween Crafting!
