Hello friends! I am excited to back with you again today. I’ve had a busy, busy summer and things do not seem to be slowing down at all! In fact, my son has already started back to school! I can’t even believe it.
Today I decided to share with you a quick way to organize all of your household and appliance manuals. When we moved into our new home last year, we were bombarded with all of the manuals for our new kitchen appliances, vacuum system, thermostat, and garage. I really wanted to keep them close as I was learning how to use them, and of course if we ever have a problem. So, I found an empty binder in my office supply stash, some sheet protectors, some dividers, and my label maker and went to town creating an Appliance Manuals Binder.
In the past, I have stored appliance manuals in my filing cabinet, but that one folder always got so big and bulky. A large binder was a great solution to keep them handy and tidy!
I used three dividers for each area
Home – this was for things like our modem and internet information, thermostat, etc.
Small – for small appliances like our FoodSaver, vacuum, steamer mop, etc.
Large – refrigerator, dishwasher, ovens, etc.
I love that the dividers have pockets. They make it so easy to insert a new manual even if I don’t have time to put them in a sheet protector right away.
A few months after we moved in, our new refrigerator showed an error code on the display panel. It was so nice to be able to go to the bookshelf, grab my binder, open it to the correct divider, and find exactly what I needed to fix it!
I hope that you find this useful! Binders are a great way of organizing lots of things. You can find other ways I use binders (like my Home Management Binder) on my blog!
