Now, I know I do a mantel for basically any occassion but I’ve never really even THOUGHT about decorating my mantel for New Years Eve party festivities. Mostly because we aren’t big partiers on NYE but also because I usually keep my Christmas decor up until after the new year. Well, this year I decided to take down my Christmas decor early (yesterday) as I realized this week is when I actually have the time to do it (did you know all three of my kids have birthdays in January? Yeeeeah). BUT I was not ready to let go of my fun gold spray painted Christmas lights!! To tell you the truth, I don’t think I’ll ever be ready to take them down. Luckily they are PERFECT for a little glitzy New Year’s Eve party vibe! So, in a nutshell, I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to glam it up there on the mantel.
Thank goodness for the girls at Paging Supermom! They made this about a 15 minute make over by making it so easy on me… they created this adorable printable banner that I just printed out, cut apart and strung up. So cute and easy! I thought about designing one of my own but realized theirs was exactly what I would create anyway. Love the simplicity and the black and white with stripes and polka dots. Perfection! You can download it too over on their site HERE.
I did go go the party store to get that gold fringe ($5 for 15 feet of it). I put it up on the mantel and then trimmed it into that curved shape for a little more…. something. 🙂 Then I cut some stars out of gold glitter cardstock I had on hand and I was done!
Here is what it looks like at night with the lights on. Love it!
My daughter is going to have a little friend over so we will just stare at the mantel and then bang on some pots and pans when the clock strikes twelve. Party! 🙂
Happy New Year everyone!
love, love it!!!
