If you follow me on Instagram then you are fully aware that we are now the proud, tired, excited, happy and occasionally frustrated new owners of an adorable puppy!
We have never done the puppy thing before… dogs? Yes. But a puppy? No. And let me tell you, it is NOT for the faint of heart. She wants to chew on EVERYTHING (including our hands and she can’t resist a foot in a sock–ouch!) and the potty training? Well, let’s just say I’m so happy we put hardwood floors in our entire main level this summer. My sister calls her “Little Miss Thimble Piddles” because, obviously being 3-4 lbs. means her bladder is just as small, but still! All of those thimble piddles add up and they still need to be cleaned up!
When we first got Lola, an interesting thing happened when I took her to the vet for the first time. There was a random lady there picking up some medication who had 3 miniature schnauzers (which is what Lola is) and was obviously in love with them. She had a lot of wonderful advice to give about their temperaments, the best place to get them groomed, etc. But one of the most interesting things she asked was whether or not I used a particular brand of spray mop to clean my floors. I told her I didn’t and she went on to explain how that is good because that kind of cleaner is SO BAD for puppies and dogs. Wha? I had never even THOUGHT about that before! This started me thinking a lot about the types of cleaners I was using in relation to our new little furry bundle of energy.
Lola is now about 18 weeks old and has, with no direction from me, taken it upon herself to make sure there are absolutely NO CRUMBS or food of any kind left on the kitchen floor. 🙂 She does her chore about 4-5 times a day, going around and sniffing each corner and does an especially thorough inspection under the kitchen table. She is constantly licking the floor and running her nose along the baseboards so the type of cleaner I’m using to spot clean my floors is particularly important! I mean, she is LICKING the floor. Even my babies and toddlers didn’t do that!
So enter Green Works® all-purpose cleaner. All Green Works® products are 95% to 99% naturally derived. That means all the active cleaning ingredients in their products are derived from mother nature, such as filtered water, plant-based cleaning agents, essential oils, corn-based ethanol and wood-based fibers.
With all of her potty training accidents (although she is getting way better now!) and other regular things that needed cleaning up off the floor on a daily basis, I did not want to be constantly spraying the kitchen floor with harmful chemicals that Lola would then be ingesting as she went about her “chores” each day.
Not to mention that she attacks anything that moves so as I’m wiping up spills she is trying to eat my paper towels! Yet another reason to make sure all cleaning products are safe and natural.
Keeping our new puppy healthy is at the top of our priority list. It’s amazing how quickly they just work your way into your heart! And if I can help keep her healthy by doing something as easy as using Green Works® natural cleaner then I am definitely going to do that! Plus it is a powerful cleaner that cuts through grease, grime, dirt, soil and messes without leaving any harsh chemical residue. And I can use it on multiple surfaces throughout my home!
And I have fantastic news… you can now save with Cartwheel at your local Target on a variety of Green Works® products! You can also save with Target online as well!
