If you’re anything like me, you’ve been reading the blogs for a month now and oohing and aahing at all the fabulous Teacher Appreciation ideas everyone has been putting together, making big plans to do the same & imagining your children’s teachers declaring you the most creative parent they’ve ever known.
And then you shut down the computer and go to bed.
So here we were….TUESDAY of Teacher Appreciation Week and I got nothin’. Well, I HAD nothin’ and now I’ve got somethin’. And you can have somethin’ too. It might not be the ground-breaking creative homemade gift we had all imagined for ourselves but those days are gone. It’s now Wednesday and we need to face reality. And it will still make the teachers smile & feel appreciated and, really, isn’t that what it’s all about?
Steps For our Last {SECOND} Teacher Appreciation Ideas
1) Stop feeling guilty and get cracking.
2) Purchase an inexpensive potted flower from the grocery store. You’ll probably be there today anyway, right? Mine were $6.99.
3) Cut off the upper part of that plastic stuff and tie a cute ribbon around the top of the pot.
4) Make a tag holder out of some wire (I had floral wire) by wrapping one end of the the wire around pliers to form tight loops.
5) Print these tags out on cardstock (DOWNLOAD TEACHER APPRECIATION TAGS HERE). Cut them out or punch out with 3″ circle punch. Back with other decorative paper if desired. Slip the tag in between loops and stick the straight end into the dirt.
7) Enjoy the feeling of accomplishment for 5 minutes before looking at your To Do list for the day.
Simple, but totally effective! And the teachers get a nice flower to spruce up their work desks out of it, too. 🙂
I just came acrossed your blog today….LOVE IT!! What a cute idea for a teacher gift!! Thanks 🙂
Genius. This is why you are an A+ at Awesomeness.

Very cute! I love the colors!
As a teacher myself, I LOVE this idea. Now if only I would get something this week as cute & creative =)

I was a teacher and I’ll be thrill to receive such a sweet flower… love the quote so much!
Thank goodness I stopped by your house last night, since I hadn’t checked my Reader yet either, cause you saved me from finishing out the week looking like a neglectful, ungrateful parent. I love how simple your things are. Clean and just – less-is-more perfect.
What a fun and easy idea. But it does the job so well
Fabulous idea! I am a loser, I stuffed a giftcard in an envelope, no cutesy points for me this year. I guess the teacher already thinks I am a weirdo. Kaitlin told her I checked her out early so I could be home when the fed ex guy brought my iPad. Niiiice.
I love the daisies and the tags are so adorable! I am sure it was LOVED!
Now THAT is something I could do! I love this idea and think it makes a big impact without a ton of work…my kind of project! 🙂
Thanks so much for linking it up this week to Inspiration Friday!
