Happy Summer everyone! I am excited to be back here at Landeelu.com to share with you one of my favorite summer snacks for my kids. Our summer is going great! We are busy with our Summer Routines and Chore Charts and having lots of fun at the pool and local amusement park. But with all my kids home, they are eating me out of house and home! So when a friend of mine shared with me her Protein Ball recipe, I couldn’t wait to see if my kids would like it and it would satisfy their constant need for snacking! And guess what? They L-O-V-E them! And because they are full of protein, it keeps them fuller longer and they snack less. Yay!
I love this healthy protein balls recipe because it literally takes me 5 minutes to make since I have all the ingredients on hand.
Healthy Protein Balls
Source: An Organized Family
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup agave/honey you can add either or half and half
- 5 scoops protein powder vanilla or chocolate
- 1/3 cup flax seeds
- 1/3 cup Oats
- 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips
- Mix everything together and scoop.
- Put on parchment paper and layer in a baking pan and put in the refrigerator or freezer.
I mix everything in my KitchenAid, but you could also do it with any electric hand mixer.
Healthy Protein Balls – Make Sure to Use Wax Paper
I use a medium size scoop to scoop them onto wax/parchment paper.
Healthy Protein Balls – Double That Recipe
We go through them fast enough that I usually double my recipe and make two trays at a time.
Healthy Protein Balls – a healthy snack for my kids
I love that I am providing a healthy snack for my kids without processed ingredients. They also have enough protein in them to keep them full in between meals. During the school year, my kids will even stick them frozen in their lunch boxes and they are thawed by lunchtime. Yum!
