- A variety of ribbon from your ribbon stash or purchased at 50% off at Hobby Lobby (I swear it’s 50% off every other week). Different widths, patterns, textures are the best. The more variety the better!
- A straw wreath
STEP ONE: Wrap your straw wreath one of your selected ribbons. I chose solid black. This keeps the straw from ruining all your fun with the inevitable “peek through.”
STEP TWO: Cut pieces of ribbon and tie around wreath using your basic square knot! I started with my wide ribbons first and then went back and filled in with the thinner ones.
STEP THREE: Optional but I think it made a big difference… cut the ends of all your ribbons in a V. This definitely gave it a more finished and festive look.
STEP FOUR: Fluff and froof until you get it how you want it and hang it up!
AMAZING!!! I love this, even better than the birthday wreath. Thank you for sharing.
So cute and easy!! Love it!!
LOVE how adorable and easy this is!
LOVE IT!!! So cute! Miss you!!!
I love this wreath! It can be used for any occasion which is great! Thank you for sharing.
Just love this! Pinned!
Turned out great! 🙂
Love this! Too cute!
I love this! Where did you find that cute ribbon? I know if I don’t get exactly what you did, I can actually screw it up!
Pretty! All your “fancy” black and white ribbons make it look sophisticated!
Why not do it for your favorite team colors when you have ‘tailgating’ at your house?
I can’t wait to try this myself. I will wait until I have my daughter’s room complete and make one to match her room’s decor. I could also see myself doing a cheetah/hot pink one. FUN!
Holy moses – I LOVE THIS!!!!I am going to make one almost immediately – well as soon as I can get to the craft store and get a wreath:):) I also envision making one using all the bits and pieces of ribbon that I love (and I have a TON of that) to have a pretty scrappy looking one also.
This is cute! I bought a pack of Halloween ribbon at Mashall’s and didn’t know what to do with it. Now I know!
I love this! Great ribbon choices.
Love! Pinning!

I absolutely love this wreath! It seems so simple to create, but looks so stunning. Well done!
This is so awesomely beautiful! It looks so cool with its wild ends. I’m lovin’ the black and orange, too!

Such an adorable wreath, I pinned it to my crafts board on Pinterest, thanks for sharing.
I just finished my own & I couldn’t be happier!! Love this!! 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing!!
I have brenn looking for a ribbon wreath. I’m going to make one for Christmas. Made one out of halloween socks for halloween but I think a ribbon one will be better thanks for the idea.
LOVE! going to try this with Christmas colors 🙂
What a great idea! I’m always looking for fun things to do with my tween granddaughters. Going to do this for Easter coming up!! Thank you!
Awesome idea! I have featured this post on my site http://www.threepeasconsignments.wordpress.com.
i just saw your ribbon wreath on Pinterest while looking for a Fall project for a ladies night. Do you remember about how much ribbon you needed for this wreath? Thanks so much!
did you measure out the length of your ribbon?
This is a really cute idea. I think I’m going to do one in my favorite SEC Colors….Burnt Orange & Navy Blue!!!
What length do you cut your ribbons?
I don’t really know the length I used! I cut a couple and made sure they could be tied around my wreath form and then used them as a “pattern” to cut the rest. Great idea making one for your favorite team!!
How much ribbon is needed to make a wreath? I would love to make this but need to know about how much ribbon is used for 1 wreath.
Just wondering if it makes a difference whether the ribbon is regular non wired or can it be with the wire?
It can be wired or not wired! The nice thing about wired is that then you can shape the ends of the ribbons how you want them and they will stay. Have fun making your wreath!
This is cute. How many rolls of ribbon did you buy? How long did you cut the ribbon before you tied it around the wreath?
Why doesn’t she answer this question?? It’s been asked 3 times! Prob cause the amount of ribbon needed is costly!
Hi Sharon! I actually didn’t keep track of the exact number of rolls I used because a) I was using partial rolls that I had on hand as well as new ones and b) it will be completely different for everyone because it depends on the look you want! Some will want it fuller and some will like it a little more sparse looking. It also totally depends on the various widths of the ribbons you use. It’s an impossible question to answer but the wreath is very fun to make so enjoy the process!
I made a Valentine wreath just today. Including the foam wreath form (with coupon) and 9 rolls of ribbon (50% off), I spent about $20. I filled in with some tulle that I already had but also have ribbon left on almost all of the rolls. It certainly depends on the width of your ribbon (mine varied between 7/8″ and 1 1/2″) and the size of your wreath (mine was 12″).
Thank you Amy, that helps a lot. At least I have an idea of how much ribbon to buy.
Very pretty. How do you hang the wreath?
I pinned a little loop of ribbon on the back for hanging. Easy to hang on a hook or nail!
How long did you cut your ribbon
You really need to experiment and it depends on how wide your ribbon is. If it’s wider it needs to be a longer piece.
Thank you
