My favorite time of year is fall. I’m a “cool weather” kind of a gal so when the crisp air comes a knockin’ I welcome it with open arms. I love the fall leaves and the “pumpkin everything” mindset… I adore it all! However, sometimes the fall colors don’t mesh well with the overall vibe I’ve got going on in my house. I’m a fan of decorating for the holidays and seasons but the colors of fall aren’t exactly my go-to hues, if you know what I mean. So my fall mantel is tricky to put together! This year I put together a bit of a fresh fall color palette and I love it!
I feel like it’s definitely “fall” but it also looks awesome in my family room.
I am so excited about this felt ball garland I got from Pearl & Jane because it is the perfect fall color palette! Obviously fall-like but for sure fresh and fun. And from there it was easy! I made some coordinating yarn tassels (see tutorial HERE), added some wood beads and pretty much just shopped my house for the rest!
I love this hand-lettered artwork from Handlettered Designs. Such talent! I found an Ikea frame that was empty and framed it up. The perfect art and sentiment for my fall mantel this year.

Then I added some ceramic pumpkins (one up on a DIY display pedestal that I made a couple of years ago… you can see that tutorial HERE), some flowers in a crock (with a fun added tassel) and a mirror that I had down in the basement to anchor it all.
I love it when I can just pull things from around my house, along with a few little craft projects, to create a whole new fall mantel display! Now to enjoy it for a couple of weeks before the Christmas stuff goes up (eeeks!)!
Happy Fall!
