Halloween is one of those holidays that just makes you want to be crafty, don’t you think? It lets you be whimsical and fun which is sometimes a little bit hard with your “everyday decor” or some of the other holidays. Today I am sharing a very inexpensive, very festive and very easy little Halloween decoration idea project that will add a perfect touch of whimsy to your home this Halloween!
All you need for this project is some festive napkins (or tissue paper cut to size), scissors & twine or wire.
I’m guessing some of you have seen these before but they are usually used as a faux flower kind of a project. I wanted them to just be a big burst of Halloween all up in here! They obliged. 🙂
Here is how I made them:
1. Choose your napkins according to the color scheme/theme you want to convey. For one “burst” you’ll need 6 large & two small, contrasting napkins (or tissue paper). 2. Unfold the small napkins to a single layer and place on top of each other. Fold both together accordion-style. Trim each end to a point. 3. Unfold small napkins again and place on top of large napkins which have also been unfolded to a single layer and placed on top of each other. 4. Fold all napkins together like an accordion, tie middle with twine or wire and trim ends of large napkins into a point. 5. Gently pull up each later of napkin on one side until they are all “fluffed” like you want them. 6. “Fluff” the other side and you’re done!
I made three of them in different patterns (but same black, orange and white color scheme) and attached them to a wide houndstooth patterned ribbon and hung them from the door leading to my basement.
Love! And my kids were super impressed by them. 🙂
How fun would these be all around at your Halloween party this year?
This craft is an oldie but a goodie when adapted for some Halloween festivities!
Thanks for stopping by!

Brilliant! Simple and super cute! (Bet I could do this with fabric all folded up like a napkin eh…?) Meh, easier with napkins probably!
I think it’s easier and probably a lot cheaper! 🙂
So cute and simple! I look decorative napkins and made a 4th of July banner last year out of them! Pinning this one – could use it for any occasion!
