Summertime is a beautiful season. The weather is delightful, flowers are in full bloom and “pool day” is a common term. While actual schedules are a little more relaxed, for the moms out there, it is a crazy busy time! Having the kids home all day (and in need of some entertainment), it seems like summertime can feel like the opposite of a vacation.
That is why having a GNO (girls night out) is even more important during the summer months! Mamma needs some “me time!” I suggest that a girls night IN is just as rejuvenating. I feel like it’s basically a necessity to keep your sanity as the summer stretches on. Put the kids to bed, pull out delicious Edwards Desserts from the freezer and invite some girlfriends over! You’ll feel like you’re finally on the vacation you deserve.
Knowing how important some “girlfriend time” is, my friends and I get together almost every week during the summer to watch The Bachelorette. I know! It’s terrible! And yet, it’s hilarious and I always end up laughing my head off with my friends. We rotate around who hosts and the hostess always has a dessert of some kind waiting for us. When it was my turn this past week, I wanted to really bring the “summer vibe” home and got an Edwards Desserts Key Lime Pie. You guys, it was AMAZING! A decadent, creamy dessert with just enough tang and the perfect graham cracker crust!
I literally took it out of the freezer, put it on a cake plate next to some fresh flowers and let it thaw. THAT’S IT! My friends kept talking about how they felt like they were at a fancy party! They also couldn’t get over how delicious the Key Lime pie was and kept going back for more as we watched the bachelorette cry and send several delusional men home. The Key Lime could not be resisted even by those who claimed they “only wanted a sliver.” Turns out they actually wanted a sliver plus a full piece! And who can blame them?
