I love the look of Mercury Glass -thanks for the great tutorial! Can’t wait to try it.
Love the Mason jar idea. What brand of “Looking Glass” spray paint did you use?
Krylon seems to work the best for me.
These are amazing.
LOVE!
have an old brass lamp that I’d like to try this on, do you think it’ll work? any tips?
Just wanted to let you know that I linked to your tutorial on my blog 😀 Thanks for your help!

great job! Thanks for posting! I had an experience with spray paint.. I figured out the quality depends on brand, have to try with the paint you are using.
Where do you get looking glass spray paint?
I got mine at Hobby Lobby. I’m guessing Michaels has it too!
Walmart caries it also
Yes, WalMart does carrry it but you will need to check their craft section. I tried 2 Walmart stores before someone told me they don’t keep it in hardware with the other spray paints. You will need to go to the craft section to find it.
Michaels, Hobby Lobby, most craft stores will have it. I had NO luck at hardware stores or big box stores like Lowe’s and Home Depot. Stick to your favorite craft store and you should be able to find it. It is a little pricey but the results are worth it.
Amazon
Just repinned these because I fell in love with them all over again! Gorg!!!
Thanks girls!
Love this tutorial! Hoping to turn some jars into mercury glass for my upcoming wedding. Do you spray everything on the outside of the jar?
Hi Betsy! They will be so beautiful for your wedding! Yes, it’s all done on the outside… which is nice because then you can have water or whatever you’d like on the inside for flower arrangements, etc. Good luck!
How do you keep the Looking Glass paint from, eventually, rubbing/chipping off? If you’re NOT going to drink out of them, I guess you could spray in INSIDE?
They’re so gorgeous, I would hate to think all that work would eventually – after months/years of dusting or wiping them down – that the finish would come off.
Have you EVER sprayed the INSIDE of a wine/beer bottle with LG Spray??
Thanks for the tutorial!!!!
will this work on plastic ???
I have no idea! I don’t see why it wouldn’t though. If you try it, come back and let me know how it worked!
Hola! Love the idea!!! I was wondering if I could something close to the same results using Chrome paint? The blog is great thank you!
I just tried mine but they aren’t looking as good as yours. I wondered how many coats you used?
Hi Sarah! I just did one coat and then went back and kind of sprayed where I thought it could use a little more. I would say less is better! Good luck!
If you put lights in it would it shine through enough?
Hi Chantal! I think it depends on how much spray paint you apply to it. The way I did it (and is shown in the photos) allows plenty of light to shine through. It might take some experimenting to get the look you want! Good luck!
where can I
purchase the looking glass paint?
I have found it at both Michaels and Hobby Lobby!
Hey your Jars are Beautiful…… I’m going to try it I’ll let you know what happen. Jean!!
