- Decorative metal sheets (from Hobby Lobby)
- a picture frame (I happened to find a 12×24 frame at HL too but these metal sheets can easily be cut to any size)
- decorative knobs or hooks
- primer & paint
- glazier points
STEP THREE: Using a drill, drill desired number of holes along one of the long sides of the frame. I decided on 5. Tip: start with a small drill bit to keep the wood from splitting. I then used the exact size drill bit size that I needed so I could then just twist my decorative knobs into place without needing to secure them on the back with a nut.
Seriously. Best. Idea. EVER!
I’m going to be making at least one of these!
Super cute!! You know…I could help with that ug closet problem!!!! 🙂
Love it!! Pinning it!!
That is SO cute! I love the color and ABSOLUTELY ADORE those knobs! I wish we had any sort of craft store nearby. ):
I’m so excited! I need one! How much do you think the whole thing cost you? Here’s another idea – a magnetic board for makeup? I’ve been wanting to glue magnets to the back of my makeup stuff so I can put them all on a thing and see them all the time. I hate digging in my makeup bin. Thoughts?
Did you try this?
i have that same metal sheet just sitting in my closet. now, i know what i’m going to do with it!

Pretty awesome. i have way too many accessories, I’d need 10 of those.
I could stand to try this since all my jewellery is a mess. Thank you for sharing.

One of the best organizers I’ve seem. Love the color you chose. Paint the backing gold and you’ve got my favorite color combo. I am making this! I would LOVE for you to share this at “That’s My Style” Link Party going on TODAY on my blog. Not comfortable sharing? Stop by anyway for beauty related post and fun DIY projects. I hope to see you there! 🙂

What a lovely idea, something I can easily see myself making and using. Would also make a fab gift!
Such a cute idea! I’d love for you to link up to The DIY’ers! http://homecomingmn.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-diyers-and-our-country-weekend.html
I just think you are so clever. Where do you put the earrings with the streight pins. Thanks
Amazing! You are really creative! Truly a work of a genius! –http://signaturejewelrypackaging.com/
Where do you purchase your paint? It’s beautiful.
At Lowe’s! They have a Pantone collection there. Thanks for stopping by!
This is awesome! How much did it cost you for supplies?
This is super cute. If you can’t find the metal, could you use plastic canvas? Also, how do you get the backs off the earrings? I imagine you just lift it off? Thanks!!
With the openness of the metal design, I just leave the backs on my earrings and they can fit through the openings and then kind of rest on the edge with the back still attached. Back of earring is behind the metal, front of earring is in front, if that makes sense. You could definitely use plastic canvas or mesh but then it would require you to poke your earring through and put the back on each time to keep it in place. Thanks for stopping by!
Well that makes so much sense! Thanks for the reply. I guess I will have to put you in my contacts because you “crash in spamland” where you do not belong!!
GREAT IDEA!!! I’m going to try this.
I love this- I want to do something like this for a Christmas gift.
Where did you get the knobs your project?
I got them at Hobby Lobby!
