I love projects that don’t require a TON of effort but make a big difference. Today I’m sharing just such a project. You can use this technique to spruce up some boring ornaments you have on hand or you can grab some cheap glass ball ornaments and make them something special.
- ornaments (either plain ones you want to spruce up or glass ones as shown above)
- white primer spray paint (if you need to paint your ornaments)
- Gold metallic paint in two different tones (I also did silver ones)
- A pencil with a good eraser
STEP ONE: Spray paint ornament, if necessary. This project is obviously much easier if you simply start with plain white ornaments but might be cheaper to spray paint some you already have.
STEP TWO: Allow spray paint to dry thoroughly, if necessary.
STEP THREE: Using eraser end of pencil, lightly dip eraser in one shade of the metallic paint and randomly apply dots to ornament. Go for a random pattern with more concentration at top of ornament and less on bottom.
STEP FOUR: Allow paint to dry and then repeat with second shade of metallic paint. Create a confetti look by overlapping some dots with each other and making dots as random as possible…some close together, some on top of each other, some far apart, etc.
Isn’t it cute in silver as well?
