If you’ve been around Landeeville for very long you know I love me some mantel decorations. It’s my favorite thing to change out as the seasons come and go. So, of course, Christmas would be no exception! Even those who leave their mantels untouched all year long tend to create a Christmas mantel this time of year and it’s fantastic! So many options and directions to go in. This year I decided to focus on the “it” color right now (gold) and basically nothing was safe from me and my can of gold spray paint. Or is it my can of gold spray paint and I? Either way, I had the Midas touch and it was friggin awesome.
I’ll be sharing more about how I goldified everything in sight later this week but, if you’re wondering, YES I DID spraypaint the wire on my Christmas lights! And guess what? It was so fast! Basically I unscrewed all of the lightbulbs and stuffed a little 2×2 inch square of paper towel into each light socket. Then I took it outside and hung it on a nail and 10 minutes later it was done. The paint dried surprisingly fast on the plastic wire. Who knew? See full tutorial HERE.
I also used the same background piece that I had created for my Halloween mantel but I painted it all white first. It was an easy upcycle and I’m guessing I’ll be leaving it white and reusing it again and again. I love the crisp white with the texture from the planks. I’m smitten with the whole dern thing!
And here it is with the lights turned on… my favorite!

Oh I love your style! White & green are quickly becoming my favorite colors together. Your mantel is amazing! And it comes to show that you don’t have to have the of things on the mantel when decorating. Sometimes simple is best! Thanks for joining in the blog hop!
I love the simplicity of your mantel. Green, white and gold are some of my favorite Christmas colors. I love the wood circle behind the deer head.
this is amazing! I am in love with all the gold.
This is outstanding! Love the simplicity of your color scheme and how you mixed natural elements with glitzy gold. It’s beautifulwith the lifts off but amazing with them on! Do you have an outlet behind the planked board?
