I’m so happy that this year there is plenty of time in between St. Patrick’s Day and Easter so I can go all out and decorate for both! Well, decorate my mantel anyway… that seems to always be my go-to spot to throw up some festivity. Not “throw up” but, you know, put up. You know what I mean. 🙂
Anyway, excited to share my Lucky Burlap Mantel with you today!
It was quite easy to put together. I kept the basic design in tact from my Valentine’s Day mantel and simply swapped out some of the elements to St. Patty it up! It’s an “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” kind of a situation.
I started with my Burlap Banner that I shared yesterday. Well, really I started with the gold polka dot burlap I had found at Joann’s and knew it would be perfect for St. Patrick’s Day this year… THEN I came up with a way to make a banner out of it. THEN I figured, why not frame some of it? That seemed a skosh boring all on its own so I then decided to take some of the craft paint I had used on the banner and paint LUCKY right on the glass. It comes right off with soap & water so it’s a super inexpensive way to decorate for a holiday. I drew out my word with a washable marker first and then went over it with a big paint brush until it looked how I wanted it to look. I don’t think anyone will mistake me for a famous calligrapher or anything but I think it turned out pretty cute!
I also painted a piece of 12×12 natural burlap the same way I painted the stripes on the banner and framed that up as well. Easy!
I also spray painted some mason jars gold and added some fake daisies that I’ve had around forever and keep repurposing again & again & again!
And that’s about it! Pretty easy but definitely festive! I’m thinking it will attract at least a couple little leprachauns this year.
I hope it’s beginning to feel a little more spring-like wherever you are! Have a fun St. Patrick’s Day!
Don’t forget to PIN this to your LUCKY St. Patrick’s Day Board! 🙂
I am not really a fan of gold but wow!!! those mason jars are gorgeous!!!
Love your mantle! I was drawn to the lucky sign and then I saw the gold mason jars and WOW! Love em! Visiting from TT&J… Rhonda @home.made.
Btw – love the font of your header. Any chance you know what it is?
I wish I had a mantel to decorate! This is really cute!
What Spray paint did you use to paint the mason jars, and also you just painted the outside right?? Loved it all.
I used Krylon Gold Metallic spray paint. Just a couple of coats on the outside and they were beautiful!
Thanks so much!! 🙂
I love it all! Great use of burlap 🙂 Did you just use a tempera paint on the frame? What a fabulous idea!!
