Christmas ornaments are one of my favorite crafts to make, and this one is no exception. Years ago I made a version of these little winter hat ornaments at a class party. With a few changes, I’m sharing the updated version here today.

Whether hung on the Christmas tree or topping a package, these little winter hat ornaments are an easy and inexpensive craft for the whole family.
- Recycled cardboard tubes from T.P. or paper towels
- Assorted Pretty and Festive Colored Yarn
- Small white pom-poms
- Ornament hangers or trim ribbon
Assemble Your Winter Hat Yarn Craft
Start by cutting a ring from the cardboard tube. (I made mine 3/4-inch wide.)
Tie a 10-inch piece of yarn around the the cardboard ring using a lark’s head knot. Repeat until the cardboard ring is completely covered.
Using another piece of yarn, tie a knot around the ends as pictured.
Push the knotted ends back through the ring to create the hat shape.
Aren’t they cute?
