It’s the 10th day of the month, so I’ve gathered my creative blogging friends, and we came up with a PASTEL theme to create projects around, since SPRING is upon us! This begins our 11th month with this collaboration. We had so much fun with it the past 10 months, we decided to take it another round. One friend needed to part ways, so we added the amazingly talented Chelsea from Two Twenty One to the mix. If you’ve missed the past ten months of fun, please check them out! EASTER CRAFT IDEA: BURLAP BUNNIES
I am always excited when we move from one season to another but, for obvious reasons, Springtime is particularly exciting! Warmer weather, greener grass, blooming flowers and everything that comes along with the Easter festivities. I had been dying to start some Easter/Spring crafts when I spotted (no pun intended, promise!) (affiliate) this amazing burlap at Joann’s! Polka dot? Are you kidding? I used the gold on my St. Patrick’s Day mantel this year and then quickly set out to find a way to use all of the other colors I got my little hands on.
STEP ONE: Cut TWO layers of burlap into a rectangle. Size depends on how big you want your bunny to be but I’d say anywhere from 5-7″ in width and 10-13″ in height is great. Then cut a deep “V” at the top for the ears.
STEP TWO: Put right sides of burlap together and pin in place. Sew a straight stitch along the three straight sides of rectangle, leaving the top open. Clip corners.
And if you find them as fun to make as my daughter and I did and make a ton more than you were planning on making, I won’t judge you for that. 🙂 We made all of these in a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon. It was a near perfect day.
