I love switching out my mantel decor with the changing holidays. You can see my past mantels HERE if you’d like. It’s an easy way to appear to be very festive without having to redecorate your entire house. This time in between Easter and the Fourth of July is kind of a lull in the holiday festivities so I take the opportunity to come up with a kind of “everyday” mantel. But because it is spring to summer time I also want it to be fresh and bright! I couldn’t be happier with my fresh mantel decor I’ve got going on right now… and it required very little effort on my part too, which is always a bonus!
First of all, I got this sign from Salty Bison… isn’t it amazing? Handmade, hand-painted and completely adorable. Love the mint frame and, of course, the message it conveys! We all need to be reminded of this from time to time. “You will never ever regret being kind.” I adore it! Be sure to check out the rest of Salty Bison’s signs… they have so many that I love!
The mirror I had gotten from Target (affiliate link, click here for my full disclosure). I actually got two that I plan on hanging on either side of my bed (when I finally get around to giving that room a makeover… ::sigh:: someday!), so I thought I’d put it to good use in the meantime! I hung it up on my plank backdrop to create a little height.
Fresh Mantel Decor
For some of the other details, I spray painted a resin “A” I’ve had for years. This might be the 4th time it has been painted in order to fit in with my schemes! It was a 10 minute project and I’m happy when I have a can of gold spray-paint in my hand. 🙂 And for the other details I added my painted/distressed mason jar (that I’ve used a ton of times before!), an IKEA plant holder, and some faux peonies. When I saw the flowers in Hobby Lobby (50% off this week!) I knew the color would be so pretty with the mint frame of my sign so I snatched them right up. I might still add a couple yellow flowers… still deciding. But I love it as it is now!
Do you switch out your mantel decor very often? Or do you decorate it once and then not touch it? I’d love to know!
