I know we all appreciate our children’s teachers so much! Day in and day out they teach, nurture and direct our children as they learn, grow and basically figure out how to navigate this big world of ours. Sometimes it’s hard to know how to express that appreciation… well I’m here to tell you they want two things… for parents to be actively involved in the classroom and GIFT CARDS! Really. And I’d venture to say one of the gift cards they want the most would be to Target… who wouldn’t, right? A cutesy, crafty teacher gift is darling and I’m sure they love them but they are also hard to carry out to their cars and then find a place for them in their homes. This printable gift card holder is still cutesy & crafty but also easy for them to get home. I based it off of the Target gift card holder teacher gift I created a couple of years ago (you can see it HERE). Here is what you’ll need to make your own:
- download and print gift card holder (download it HERE, there are three on a sheet)
- black cardstock
- scissors or paper cutter
- exacto knife
- twine, ribbon, etc for embellishment (optional)
- glue stick or other adhesive
Print and cut out your card. Then, using an exacto knife, cut a slit down the side of the tree just wide enough for your gift card to slip into.
Then apply adhesive to outer edges of card and adhere to a piece of black cardstock cut just a little bigger than printable card. Allow to dry. Embellish card however you’d like, slip Target gift card in the slit on side of tree and you’re done! Have your child fill in the TO and FROM before giving it to their teacher.
Come to think of it, this doesn’t necessarily have to be JUST for teachers. It can be for anyone who keeps you “on target!” Like a boss, administrative assistant or archery coach (ha!). Do you give a teacher gift at Christmas time? I’m sure no matter what you give they appreciate knowing you are thinking of them!
Happy Christmas Crafting!
