I really can NOT believe I haven’t shared this amazing dessert with you yet! It is one of our favorites and is literally the only dessert I knew how to make for about the first 5 years of our marriage! With a light and creamy middle surrounded by Oreo crumb layers, I think you’ll quickly see why we call it Oreo Heaven!I first learned how to make this when I was in high school and playing basketball. We would have dinners the nights before the games and “carbo load” (basically just an excuse to get together and eat tons of pasta… and having gone to high school in New Jersey I can tell you, it was aMAZing pasta!). One of the girls on the team would always bring this dessert (by request from the rest of us) and we LOVED it! So, needless to say, it was my go-to dessert all through college and might be about 60% of the reason my husband married me.
Now today, I will happily share it with you! If you’re looking for a husband I highly suggest making it! Ha!
Oreo Heaven Dessert
1 large package Oreos, crushed (I put them in my food processor to make it easy)
8 oz. cream cheese
1 stick butter (softened)
1 C. powdered sugar
3 C. milk
2 large pkgs. Instant Vanilla Pudding
1 t. vanilla extract
12 oz. tub Cool-Whip
Put 1/2 of the crushed Oreos in bottom of 9×13 pan. In large bowl, mix cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until smooth. Add milk, instant pudding and vanilla and mix well. Fold in Cool-Whip. Pour mixture on top of Oreos in pan and then cover with remaining Oreos. Chill until firm (at least an hour or so).
Such a crowd pleaser! Even people who claim they don’t like Oreos love this dessert.
AND be sure to head on over to eighteen25 to see how I embellished this to make it a fun Halloween dessert too!
