Googly Eye Balls

And so Landee's Halloween love affair with the googly eyes continues.... :)

Today I'm sharing an easy Halloween craft with you!  And believe me, the hardest part was coming up with a name for them.... "Googly Eye Ball Balls" or "Googly Eye Ball Decorative Balls" or "Googly Eyes Balls"... it was maddening!  But making them was dang fun and I love the result!

Supplies Needed:

  • Mod Podge or white craft glue
  • Googly eyes (a variety of sizes is best)
  • Styrofoam ball

STEP ONE: Brush Mod Podge (or white glue) on one half of your styrofoam ball and stick on the eyes.  Allow to dry before moving onto the other half.  The eyes slip around quite a bit when on wet Mod Podge and you need something to hang onto while you do the other side.

STEP TWO:   Repeat STEP ONE for other half.

STEP THREE:  Display!

I put mine in a glass jar I have in the middle of my kitchen table along with some fabric covered balls and small pumpkins I painted last year.

These could also be fun up on candle sticks, hanging from light fixtures or anywhere else!  I also thought they'd be cute if you painted the ball orange or black before adhering the eyes.  And they make a fun rattle noise if you shake them too... bonus!

Happy Halloween Crafting!

I love it - it looks so cute in your jar with the rest of that cute stuff! Yah it would be cute painted before you glue the googley eyes on. But not spray paint on styrofoam it will destroy it - you'd have to use acrylic craft or latex paint.

Thanks for all the awesome ideas!

I, too, have an unhealthy addiction to googly eyes. What a fun idea!
