Add some spooky lighting to your Halloween porch this year with these easy, DIY Eyeball Lights! Yes, the eyeball theme continues. I just can't help myself.
Easy + Festive + Eyeballs = Right up Landee's Alley
Here is what you'll need to make these disembodied glowing orbs:
- a string of Chrismtas lights
- ping pong balls (enough for each light on your strand)
- Sharpies
STEP ONE: Sit down, turn on your favorite show and have creating different eyeballs on each ping pong ball using your Sharpies! Really, get creative and enjoy yourself. How often do we sit and color these days? If you're the type* to trust your kids with Sharpies then, by all means, have them help!
*Landee is not this type.
STEP TWO: Using and exacto-knife (or similar sharp object), cut an "X" in the bottom of your ping pong eyeball... like so....
STEP THREE: X marks the spot! Insert an individual light bulb where you've cut. I didn't feel the need to use glue or anything. As a matter of fact, it was nice to be able to rotate the ping pong balls later to get them to face the right way.
STEP FOUR: Plug in lights and display!
Really, couldn't be easier! I can't wait to have them out on the porch Halloween night!
