Last {SECOND} Teacher/Mother's Day Gift!

If you're anything like me, you've been reading the blogs for a month now and oohing and aahing at all the fabulous Teacher Appreciation gifts everyone has been putting together, making big plans to do the same & imagining your children's teachers declaring you the most creative parent they've ever known.

And then you shut down the computer and go to bed.

So here we were....TUESDAY of Teacher Appreciation Week and I got nothin'.    Well, I HAD nothin' and now I've got somethin'.   And you can have somethin' too.  It might not be the ground-breaking creative homemade gift we had all imagined for ourselves but those days are gone.  It's now Wednesday and we need to face reality.  And it will still make the teachers smile & feel appreciated and, really, isn't that what it's all about?

Steps For our Last {SECOND} Teacher Appreciation Gift

1) Stop feeling guilty and get cracking.

2) Purchase an inexpensive potted flower from the grocery store.  You'll probably be there today anyway, right?  Mine were $6.99.

3) Cut off the upper part of that plastic stuff and tie a cute ribbon around the top of the pot.

4) Make a tag holder out of some wire (I had floral wire) by wrapping one end of the the wire around pliers to form tight loops.

5) Print these tags out on cardstock. Cut them out or punch out with 3" circle punch.  Back with other decorative paper if desired.  Slip the tag in between loops and stick the straight end into the dirt.

6) Send them off with your kids in the morning and hope they make it to their teachers in one piece.

7) Enjoy the feeling of accomplishment for 5 minutes before looking at your To Do list for the day.

*************BONUS IDEA!!************

Print these up and doctor them up the same way for Mom this weekend!

Simple, but totally effective! And the teachers get a nice flower to spruce up their work desks out of it, too. :)

Thank goodness I stopped by your house last night, since I hadn't checked my Reader yet either, cause you saved me from finishing out the week looking like a neglectful, ungrateful parent. I love how simple your things are. Clean and just - less-is-more perfect.

Fabulous idea! I am a loser, I stuffed a giftcard in an envelope, no cutesy points for me this year. I guess the teacher already thinks I am a weirdo. Kaitlin told her I checked her out early so I could be home when the fed ex guy brought my iPad. Niiiice.

Ok, I know this is really late but do you have any ideas for a male teacher? We are trying to come up with an end of the year present for our youngest son's teacher. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!!
